When I first heard our class was going to visit the Serpentine Pavilion I instantly thought we were going to visit a museum full of snakes, I thought wrong. The Serpentine Pavilion is made of fibreline profiles giving it its surface a touch of a warm glow with a linear texture. It was designed by the Bjarke Ingles Group. It is given the name of the "unzipped wall" that is transformed from a straight line into a three dimensional space that is used as an open cafe to the public, and a place for performative works by writers and musicians. The Serpentine Pavilion definitely breaks the rules and changes the game completely, a structure built entirely from a creative mindset that is open to everyone. I know when i stepped in i truly felt i was in the structure like in the piece of work as well as being part of it!
